AIR FRYER CHICKEN NUGGETS
Do I have to be the only person who is late to be a part of the Air Fryer club? I thought it was another kitchen appliance I didn’t need to take up my counter space. So I was surprised to receive an air fryer for a present in the past, and I was mistaken! I’m in love with the air fryer right now, particularly when cooking easy recipes such as the Crispy Air-Fried Chicken Nuggets! They’re straightforward to make, and I have control over the ingredients and get around two dozen chicken nuggets for a fraction of the price of eating at a fast food establishment.
RECIPE TIPS FOR SUCCESS!
Add the spices and oil to the breadcrumbs in a separate. Add the spices first to the breadcrumbs and give it a thorough mix. Then, add the oil and mixture. This will allow the spices to be evenly dispersed.
After adding it to your chickens, you can flip it over and put the chicken nuggets in the breadcrumbs to ensure that it’s coated equally all around.
Make sure to heat in the oven. Like preheating the oven, it’s a great idea to heat your air fryer so that the chicken nuggets cook evenly and become crunchy on the outside.
Do not overcrowd the basket. Spread the nuggets in an even layer so the hot air circulates over the poultry. Cook in two separate batches if you have to.
INGREDIENTS
One skinless, boneless chicken breast (about 2/3 1 lb.) ($4.50)
3/4 tsp salt, split ($0.05)
1 Tbsp all-purpose flour ($0.02)
Half cup buttermilk ($0.24)
1 cup of plain breadcrumbs ($0.60)
One teaspoon of garlic powder ($0.10)
1/2 tsp smoked paprika ($0.05)
Two tablespoons cooking oil ($0.08)
INSTRUCTIONS
On a cutting table, cut the breast of your chicken into pieces of 3/4 inches. It should yield 20-24 chicken nuggets, based on your breast size.
Sprinkle 1/4 tsp salt over all the pieces of chicken. Then sprinkle the flour on the chicken pieces and toss it in a circular motion to coat the chicken.
AMix your breadcrumbs, garlic powder, smokey paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a small mixing bowl. Mix the seasoning with the breadcrumbs. Then add baking oil and breadcrumbs. Blend until oil has evenly coated the breadcrumbs. It should appear like damp sand.
In a small bowl, put 1/2 cup buttermilk in a separate bowl.
Line together the pieces of chicken with buttermilk and breadcrumbs. Using tongs or hands, begin coating the chicken nuggets pieces by covering them with the buttermilk. Then, transfer them to breadcrumbs and evenly coat them with breadcrumbs. Place the chicken nuggets coated with breadcrumbs aside.
The air fryer should be heated up to 400°F. After the oven is heated, place the chicken nuggets inside the air fryer basket in one layer. Be careful not to crowd the basket. It is possible to cook the chicken nuggets in two batches If you want to. Air fry for about 8 minutes, flipping the chicken nuggets halfway through.
Take chicken nuggets out of the air fryer and let them cool for about 3 minutes before serving them with your favorite dip sauce.
